At the end of the Soi after Christie’s. an extremely loud Soi you can't miss. Not gay owned or a gay venue but many gay men and women go from 11pm especially Friday & Saturday nights. Young western straight dominated but popular with gay Thai guys, ladyboys, gay and bi tourists. The gay corner is right in front of the dance floor. Gay Thai rent 'boys' (read men) & ladyboys will pop in after they have finished work in their own bar. Open air, large, very loud with sports screen. Closes 2pm

Still keen to party? Alas government regulations mean most places now close at 2am. A handful of places manage to carry on however. The Sound Club being one such place. Located at  the soi (lane) after the soi of Green mango. Always packed with mixed crowd from 2 to 6am. BEACH

Gay Beach
Not far north out of Chaweng but you need to take a motorbike. From the gate of the 'Coral Bay Resort & Spa' - which is about 1 km north of Central Chaweng - go half a km to the fork in the road and take the right hand fork for another half km. A short walking track goes down to the beach. Not a swimming beach, sand, coral and rocks, no amenities so take water/food - also a bag to take your rubbish back. Not a busy beach but gay tourists and local gay Thai guys settle into the rocks below the trees to the left as you walk onto the beach for a quiet relaxing time. People are friendly and happy to chat. Western tourists go down in the heat of day but local gay Thai guys go down about 5 pm. Sadly, the place is fast changing as land is developed for housing around the area.

Chaweng Beach
Take the Soi Sala Koy side Road (opposite Family Mart Store at intersection of road leading to Laemdin Market) off Chaweng Beach Road down to this popular place for local Thai families and young people in the early evening to swim, relax and have dinner on the beach purchased from beach vendors. Gay Thai guys often go there, often in groups from about 5 pm.

Volley Ball
On the beach in front 'OP Bungalows', Central Chaweng. Walk through the grounds of the 'Muang Samui Resort and Spa' then turn left at the beach. Gay Thai guys and ladyboy volley ball teams play on the beach each evening 5- 6 PM. Gay Thai and expats go to watch the serious but fun game.
