All at the Jules Verne World Event From 19 to 27 March 2005
To all Jules Verne friends,
The centenary of Jules Verne’s death in 2005 is an occasion for the International Centre to bring together all the Jules Verne fansin
the world in Amiens and Picardy, his choice of domicile, then in Nantes
and in Paris. This event is an occasion to bring together writers,
intellectuals, researchers, literary and scientific academics, collectors..
This is why we are organising on the occasion of the 2005 centenary
a special gathering of the largest number of amateurs.
This meeting in which we have invited you to participate – which may break
a few piggy banks! – should enable you to get better acquainted with and to participate more actively in the Jules Verne fraternity. This is why we thought
it was important to organise a full week for which we have calculated the lowest possible prices, whilst giving you a number of choices.
For those who are unable to partake in an entire week of veritable international exchanges, two modified options will enable them :
I to either commence with the days in Amiens and Baie de Somme, the most beautiful cathedral and one of the most beautiful landscapes in France, prior to the conference and to continue with the two-day conference on the 22 and 23, then the commemoration on 24 March in the morning,
I or to only come for the conference (free entry) and the commemoration on the 24th.
The conference itself shall be broken down into three parts:
I The central part with French-English simultaneous translation, shall present the status of knowledge, centres of interest and the organisation of Jules Verne amateurs in the world, country by country. This presentation shall be made by the presidents of the Jules Verne clubs and, for countries where there are no clubs, by an informed amateur.
I Conference rooms shall be made available at the same time where, for those who so desire, communications and discussions centred on themes could take place according to proposals that arise.
