BAMBOO HOUSE OF DOLLS (1973) a.k.a. Storia Segreta Di Un Lager Femminile  a.k.a. Das Bambuscamp der Geschändeten Frauen
Directed by Kuei Chih-Hung.
Hardcore Shaw Brothers Japanese WIP. This one deserves to be seen for the focus puller alone. Chicks are held prisoner in Jap WWII camp, and pimped out to the higher ups. Lots of brutal sex,  hair brained escapes, traitors, and a search for a cave full of treasures. This film is suprisingly good. There are moments of sheer nastiness that rival Killer Snakes in tone, and some well done action sequences on the level of the Phillipino WIP flicks of the early 70's.

BANISHED (2005)

Directed by Eiji Okauda

cast ; Keiko Matsuzaka

Set in 1838, on Hachijo Island Penal Colony, anarchy is the way of life. There are no jail cells, no guards, no government interference. The only absolute is... survival at any cost. One of the convicts is an ex-courtesan named Toyogiku. By exploiting her sexuality - bartering her body for favors - she has gained some authority in her section of the island. But passions are easily ignited and sometimes there isn't much difference between sexual release and brutality.

BARE BEHIND BARS (1987) a.k.a. Mädchen schutzlos hinter Gittern a.k.a. Desnuda tras las rejas a.k.a. a prisao  a.k.a. Prison of dead
Directed by: Osvaldo DeOliveria
Cast: Maria Splendore, Neide Ribeiro, Marcia Frago

The movie has exercise yard brawls and stabbings, numerous shower scenes, lesbian guards who beat the nude inmates in the shower, a lesbian warden who also gets nude. A bimbo lesbian nurse who sniffs ether....In the last 5 minutes or so, there are some brief hardcore male-female snippets. I was quite surprised by this. Usually, a movie is all softcore, or all hardcore, but this one takes the softcore route until the very end.

BARBED WIRE DOLLS (1976)  a.k.a. Caged Women   a.k.a. Frauen Gefangis
Directed by: Jess Franco
cast: Lina Romay, Monika Swinn, Paul Muller

This one made back-to-back with "Women behind bars".
WIP sleaze has Lina Romay kill her father after he attempts to rape her. She is sent to a prison run by an ugly sadistic lesbian warden (aren't they all), and must fight for her life. Info is leaking out about theprisons unsavory conditions which leads to, yep you guessed it. Interrogation sequences. Highlight is electric bed torture. Franco goodness. Slow pacing deviant humiliation.

BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD (1973)   a.k.a. Nightmare Circus
directed by: Alan Rudolph
cast:
Andrew Prine,Roman Valenti

This film is just sick and boring at the same time. A car full of girls takes a short cut to Vegas and get stranded in the desert, only to be prisoners to a madman (Andrew Prine, who is really good in this film). The film has a bad theme song, sloppy editing, a creature who lives in a shack, and whipping girls like animals. The film is made by Alan Rudolph, who now makes art house films. Many of you might see this film and say, it can't be the same guy who made this, but it is. He also made ROADIE with meatloaf!

THE BIG BIRD CAGE (1971)
a.k.a. Women's Penitentiary 2

Roger Corman produced, Jack Hill directed sequel to The Big Doll House. Filmed in the Phillipines for $125,000. Pam Grier plays a rebel who goes into a prison camp to get chicks for the cause. All inmates are forced to work in a Sugar Cane Mill. Not as groovy as the The Big Doll House, but enjoyable none the less. Pam wrote and sung the theme song.

This is the Phillipino monster that started a boom in the drive-in WIP films of the 70's. Our sultry vixens not only bust out of a jungle hell hole, but they take the warden hostage. Marina (Judy Brown) is a killer who gets thrown into the clink with sassy prostitute Pam Grier, and political prisoner Erica (Pat Woodell).Sid Haig is on the scene to serve a little alcohol and get his finger wet. This movie has it all including cobra torture, rape, flogging, automatic weapons, riots, and nudity.

BIG SISTER 2000 (1995)
cast: William Smith, Julie Strain, Heather Baker

Enthralled by the cover boasting a leather-clad woman with a big gun, I thought this would be a good pick. The plot is that the main character is kidnapped from her boyfriends trailer after a night of apparent loving. Her crime: reading a book of jokes (?). Tracy is then taken to some sort of prison camp where other scantily clad x-porn stars are kept. There, the girls must fight to liberate themselves from the likes of a leather clad torturess (possibly the same person depicted on the cover) and a scummy boss man, who is the mastermind of both the prison and the kidnappings. These two main villians try to "break" the girls by means of verbal and physical abuse, neither of which are at all abusive. A kindred ghost who was killed by the very people Tracy is being detained by helps Tracy to escape, by telling her the big boss man's secret weakness. Armed with the weapon that the scummy boss man has an incredible fear of his mother, Tracy in turn "breaks" him by somehow convincing him that she is his mother and he's been "A Bad Boy!" or some such nonsense. Other noteworthy mention is that Tracy kills the female torturess by poking out her one "good" eye (the torturess' other eye is glass, which is revealed by the all-knowing ghost).Shot in video, but yet not a porn (a couple boobs here and there).

THE BIG SNATCH (1968)  a.k.a. The Big Catch
Directed by Danny Martin & Byron Mabe as Ronnie Runningboard
cast:Harry Chest, Peggy Church, Uschi Digard

Chockful of violence and eroticism Without a doubt one of the most obscure and underrated movies of all cult movies. If you ever get a copy of it keep it. Nobody wanted to be associated with this movie (as you will notice from the hilarious credits)but for Peggy Church and Uschi Digart it was an opportunity to land more exploitation roles in the future. The acting is atrocious, the women are all very good looking, especially Digart who was only 19 at the time, and believe me they don't make them like her anymore. The movie is funny because is so bad, but a couple of the scenes rank high in eroticism specially the ones with Uschi ( I doubt any warm blooded man can resist her charm and accent), the camera work is very good, and the reason why I like this movie is because is fast paced, corny to a fault, and dated, but still a gem of exploitation or soft-core and will give many men out there hours of viewing pleasure..

BLACK MAMMA, WHITE MAMMA (1972) a.k.a. Frauen in ketten a.k.a. Hot, Hard, & Mean   a.k.a.  Women In Chains   a.k.a.  Women's Penitentiary 10
directed by: Eddie Romero written by: Johnathon Demme
cast:Pam Grier, Margret Markov,Sid Haig, Lynn Borden
This Defiant Ones rip off isn't bad as Pam Grier and Margaret Markov escape chained to one another. Pam's a ho, and Markov is the girlfriend of a rebel leader. The girls have cat fights, play nun dress up, and shoot em up. Sid plays a bounty hunter hot on their trail. The lush Phillipino landscapes really shine in this one. Recommended..

BORN INNOCENT (1974 Made for TV)
Directed by Donald Wrye
cast: Linda Blair, Joanna Miles
A young runaway becomes product of the state, and joins the problem. After a lawsuit was won against NBC, the  broomstick rape scene was cut.  Although this is a well made film with some naughty moments, it has to much social merit to be good exploitation fun.
