THE NAKED CAGE (1985)  a.k.a. La cage aux vices
Written and directed by Paul Nicolas
cast: Shari Shattuck, Christina Whitaker, Angel Tompkins, Lucinda Crosby, Faith Minton
Nudity o plenty. New fish Michelle (Shattuck) begins a three-year stretch after she's framed for a bank robbery actually committed by her coke-head ex-husband (Terlesky) and recent escapee Rita (Whitaker).  As usual, Michelle attempts to gain her freedom while simultaneously dodging the amorous advances of corrupt warden Diane (Tompkins), fighting back against a male rapist guard, getting into various brawls, and befriending a sweet junkie.  Shattuck lacks the feisty star quality of CHAINED's Linda Blair, and, even though all three lead actresses pop their tops (Tompkins was in her 40s at the time), NAKED just isn't outrageous enough to recommend.

NAKED CELL (1987)  a.k.a. Die nackte Zelle
Directed by John Crome
Starring Vicki Jeffery as a locked up nymphomaniac. A powerful and disturbing film which follows a pathetic female as she struggles to make sense of why she has been imprisoned, tormented by her gaolers for her liberal attitudes and total disregard for body or convention. Was she so obsessed by sex that she could kill for it?

After murdering her illegitimate baby, Isabella pins the blame on her innocent cousin Consuelo (May Britt). Despite the strenuous efforts of her attorney-lover DeSylva , Consuelo is found guilty and shipped to a penal colony along with several other female prisoners. En route, the women mutiny, and the ship is sunk. Among the few survivors are Consuelo, her attorney, and through an improbable coincidence, Isabella. Likewise improbable, though eminently satisfying, is the film's finale.

NAZI LOVE CAMP 27 (1976) a.k.a. La Svastica nel Ventre a.k.a. Vrouwenkamp

directed : Mario Caiano

cast : Sirpa Lane

Sirpa Lane plays a Jewish woman sent to a concentration camp and to be a prostitute. She catches the eye of the camp commander and becomes his mistress. He then makes her the madam of a brothel that caters to German officers. It all leads to an unsurprisingly grim ending. The plot is completely absurd, but there's wall-to-wall sleaze, rape, constant nudity, and, I think most sleaze fans will appreciate the unasked-for hardcore sex inserts. Co-writer Gianfranco Clerici was the Mozart of Italian exploitation, as he had a hand in countless classics in the 70s and 80s. The film was directed by Mario Caiano, who made several of these films, and at least tries to make it look like he has a budget.

NIGHTMARE IN BADHAM COUNTY (1976) a.k.a. Cauchemar au pénitentier
directed by John Llewellyn Moxy
cast: Deborah Raffin, Lynne Moody, Robert Reed Chuck Conners, Tina Louise

Cultish made-for-television suspenser involves female co-eds arrested by corrupt sheriff, thrown into seedy women's prison with nightmarish results. Wonderfully sordid shocker bolstered by supremely kitschy casting.. The Vidmark video release adds nudity, lesbians, and flogging.
